The Imperial Era

For centuries, the worlds of Ethia were divided among rival kingdoms, their histories marked by conflict, shifting alliances, and endless war.

That changed when Emperor Tavereus Zahn united the warring kingdoms under a single Imperial crown, establishing what would become known as the Ethian Empire. To commemorate this new beginning, the Empire adopted the Imperial Era (I.E.) calendar, with the founding of the Empire designated as Year 1 I.E.

Unless otherwise noted, all dates throughout the EthiaVerse are recorded using the Imperial Era calendar.

Selected Events from Imperial History

The following events mark some of the most significant moments in the history of the Ethian Empire and provide context for the stories of the EthiaVerse.

1 I.E.	The Ethian Empire is founded by Emperor Tavereus Zahn.
3 I.E.	The Zahnian Legion is established as the unified military of the Ethian Empire.
3688 I.E.	The Protectorate is founded
4292 I.E.	Zaxen Zahn becomes Emperor
4376 I.E.	Prince Ghar Zahn is born
4443 I.E.	Ghar Zahn becomes Ascendant after his father is killed
4462 I.E.	The Great Civil War begins as Ascendant Ghar Zahn leads a coalition of Kingdoms against Emperor Zaxen Zahn.
4464 I.E.	Emperor Zaxen is overthrown and Ghar Zahn becomes Emperor
4465 I.E.	The Vanguard is officially established.
4647 I.E.	Prince Adar is born
4652 I.E.	Adar disappears from the Empire (Age 5)
4672 I.E.	Prince Adar returns to Ethia (Age 25)
