You Don’t Have to Figure Out Your Writing Journey Alone
Writing can be a lonely process.
You have an idea you can’t stop thinking about. You want to write the story. Maybe you’ve even started. But then you get stuck.
You struggle to stay motivated. You aren’t sure how to build a consistent writing habit. You hit a problem in your story and don’t know how to fix it. Or perhaps you simply need someone to talk things through with who understands what it’s like to sit down in front of a blank page and wonder:
Now what?
That’s where I can help. I offer personalized writing coaching and mentoring for writers who want encouragement, accountability, and practical guidance as they work toward their writing goals.
I won’t tell you there’s only one right way to write. Instead, we’ll work together to help you find an approach that works for you.
How I Can Help
Every writer gets stuck for different reasons. Our sessions can focus on whatever challenge you’re facing right now.
I can help you with things such as:
Building a Writing Habit
Finding a routine and writing process that fits your life and helps you write more consistently.
Staying Motivated
Working through the frustration, doubt, or loss of momentum that can make it difficult to keep writing.
Getting Unstuck
Talking through writer’s block, difficult scenes, story problems, or simply figuring out what to write next.
Writing Accountability
Setting realistic writing goals and having someone check in with you about your progress.
Working Through Story Problems
Sometimes you don’t need someone to rewrite your story for you. You need someone to help you think through the problem and explore possible solutions.
Finding Your Writing Process
Every writer works differently. Together, we can explore your drafting, editing, planning, and publishing process and find ways to make it more sustainable.
Understanding Feedback
Helping you sort through feedback and decide what may be useful to your story and what you can let go.
Encouragement and Support
Sometimes you simply need another writer to remind you that getting stuck doesn’t mean you should give up.
What Is the Difference Between Coaching and Mentoring?
For me, the two often overlap.
Writing coaching focuses more on where you are now and where you want to go. We might work on goals, routines, motivation, accountability, or a specific problem you’re facing.
Writing mentoring is a little more personal and experience-based. I can share what I’ve learned through my own writing journey and help you think through your own path as a writer.
The important thing is this: I’m not here to tell you how your story has to be written. I’m here to help you ask the right questions, work through the problems you’re facing, and keep moving forward.
Ways We Can Work Together
Writing Check-In
30 Minutes | $25
A shorter session for writers who need help with a specific question or problem.
This could be useful if you:
- Are stuck on a scene or chapter
- Need help thinking through a writing problem
- Are struggling with motivation
- Want help setting a realistic goal
- Need a little encouragement to get moving again
Sometimes one conversation is enough to help you see the next step.
Writing Support Session
60 Minutes | $45
A longer one-on-one session focused on your current writing challenges and goals.
We can spend the session discussing whatever is most helpful to you, including:
- Your writing routine
- Motivation and consistency
- Writer’s block
- Story or plot problems
- Your current writing project
- Goals and accountability
- Your overall writing process
This is a good option if you want more time to explore a problem in depth.
Writing Momentum Package
Two 60-Minute Sessions | $80
Sometimes one conversation isn’t enough.
The Writing Momentum Package gives us two sessions to work together over time.
The first session can focus on identifying where you’re struggling and creating a plan to move forward.
The second session gives us an opportunity to talk about your progress, work through any new problems, and adjust your approach if needed.
This is ideal for writers who want a little more support without committing to long-term mentoring.
Ongoing Writing Mentorship
Four 60-Minute Sessions | $150
For writers who would like more consistent support and accountability.
We’ll meet regularly to discuss your writing progress, goals, challenges, and whatever problems arise along the way.
Your sessions can include:
- Goal-setting
- Accountability
- Motivation and encouragement
- Working through writing problems
- Story discussions
- Building sustainable writing habits
- Adjusting your writing process as you grow
This isn’t about making you follow my system.
It’s about helping you build and maintain yours.
Need Editing or Manuscript Feedback?
My primary focus is writing coaching and mentoring, but I also have experience with developmental editing and line editing.
If you have a manuscript or section of your story that you’d like feedback on, feel free to contact me with information about your project.
Depending on your needs, I may be able to provide:
- Developmental feedback
- Story and structure feedback
- Line editing
- Feedback on a chapter or excerpt
Editing and manuscript services are quoted separately based on the project.
Who Is This For?
My services may be a good fit for you if:
- You want to write but struggle to stay consistent
- You have stories you want to finish
- You often get stuck and don’t know how to move forward
- You need encouragement and accountability
- You’re unsure what writing process works best for you
- You want someone to talk through writing problems with
- You’re a newer writer trying to find your footing
- You’re an experienced writer who needs help getting your momentum back
You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out.
In fact, not having everything figured out is often the reason writers seek support in the first place.
A Note About AI and Writing
I believe AI can be a useful tool for writers. It can help generate possibilities, provide a sounding board, and assist with certain parts of the writing process.
But AI isn’t the same thing as talking with another human being who can listen to your specific concerns, understand your goals, ask questions, and work through a problem with you.
You don’t have to choose between using useful tools and seeking human support. Sometimes a tool can help you move forward. Sometimes you need a conversation.
Ready to Get Unstuck?
You don’t have to solve every writing problem alone. If you’re interested in working with me, send me a message and tell me a little about:
- What you’re currently writing
- Where you’re struggling
- What kind of support you’re looking for
I’ll help you determine which option may be the best fit.
