Hello!
So, I’ve been considering a new possible direction for my life recently, and it’s centered around something I love.
Yes, I love, love, love writing, and I’ve been doing it for quite a few years now. But there’s something else I’ve been doing behind the scenes.
I’ve spent time critiquing and editing for other writers, and especially providing encouragement to writer friends when they needed help getting through a difficult spot.
I’ve gotten pretty good at giving helpful critiques and diving into other people’s stories to figure out what’s working and what isn’t. But what I’ve really enjoyed is helping writers get past everything from major roadblocks to those smaller moments when they simply don’t know what to do next.
I’ve enjoyed helping writers find the motivation to keep going and finally get their stories finished. And honestly, that’s the part that really gets me excited.
So, I’ve decided to put my services out there and see if there are writers who might need that kind of support.
Maybe you need encouragement to finally get your story done. Maybe you’ve hit a stumbling block and need someone to help you think your way around it. Or maybe you simply need an accountability partner to help keep you writing.
So, What Kind of Help Am I Offering?
My primary focus is going to be on writing encouragement, guidance, and accountability.
Writing can sometimes be a lonely process. You may have supportive people in your life, but they may not necessarily understand what it’s like to have a story stuck in your head, a chapter that refuses to cooperate, or a manuscript that’s been sitting unfinished for far too long. Sometimes it helps to talk to another writer.
I can help with things like:
- Getting unstuck when you’re not sure what to write next
- Building a writing routine that works for your life
- Finding ways to stay motivated
- Working through problems with your writing process
- Talking through story or plot problems
- Setting realistic writing goals
- Accountability and encouragement
- Working through feedback you’re unsure about
And yes, I can also provide critiques, developmental feedback, and line editing when needed. But my main goal is simple: I want to help writers keep moving forward.
I’ve Created a New Writing Coaching & Mentoring Page
So, I’ve officially created a new page on my website where you can learn more about my writing coaching and mentoring services. I’ve included information about the different types of support I offer, ways we can work together, pricing, and how to contact me if you’re interested.
Whether you have one particular writing problem you need help working through or you’re looking for a little more ongoing encouragement and accountability, you can find the details there.
I’m still at the beginning of this new adventure, but I’m genuinely excited to see where it goes and whether I can help some other writers along the way.
And If You’re Not Ready for Coaching Yet…
Maybe you don’t need one-on-one help right now. Or maybe you’re not sure exactly what kind of writing support you need. That’s perfectly fine. In fact, I have something that might be a good place to start.
I’ve also recently completed a free practical writing workshop called The Weekly Writer: Build a Writing Habit and Finish Your Stories.
This workshop grew out of my own experience learning how to become a more consistent writer and figuring out what helped me actually finish stories instead of leaving them sitting half-written somewhere. But there’s an important difference.
The Weekly Writer isn’t about telling you that you have to write exactly the way I do. Every writer is different. What works beautifully for one person might be completely wrong for someone else.
Instead, I’ve put together ideas, tools, and exercises designed to help you explore your own writing process and build a system that works for you.
Inside the workshop, we talk about things like:
- Finding stories you can’t stop thinking about
- Building a writing routine
- Creating a sustainable writing schedule
- Writing and editing without losing momentum
- Building a buffer
- Getting unstuck when writer’s block hits
- Using AI and other writing tools thoughtfully
- Handling feedback
- Taking breaks and avoiding burnout
- Building your own personal writing system
It’s completely free.
And you don’t have to work through the entire workshop in one sitting. Take your time, experiment with the ideas, and come back whenever you need to rethink or adjust your writing process.
A New Direction, But Still About Writing
In many ways, this feels like a natural extension of everything I’ve already been doing. I’m still writing my stories. I’m still building the EthiaVerse. I’m still sharing my journey as an author. But now, I’m also opening the door to helping other writers who are somewhere along their own journey.
I don’t expect to have all the answers. And I don’t think a writing coach or mentor should pretend they do. But I’ve learned a lot through my own years of writing, revising, getting stuck, starting again, finding what works, and continuing to show up for my stories.
If something I’ve learned can help another writer get past a roadblock… If a conversation can help someone see their story or writing problem differently… If a little encouragement helps someone sit down and write another chapter… Then that’s something I’d genuinely love to be part of.
I want to help writers keep moving forward, and maybe that’s exactly where this new adventure begins.
